GIS Status

The GIS Website will undergo a change in the coming weeks.  Visitors will notice a difference in the search functions and should have quicker viewing and loading of the images and data for the areas.  Other new features are Surveyor Section Corner records and images of corner cards, comparable property search, search by division name, a more accessible description of the property record card information and other daily updated information.  The new site should allow users an easier printable map, without internet security settings being changed.

When the site is made available to the public, there will be another informational session held in the Steuben County Community Center on how to use the website.

Parcel boundaries are currently available for all of the 12 townships.  The website data and information is updated daily, DATA ENTERED by each office should be reflected on the next business day.  If the information you are searching is not available, the data for that entry has likely NOT been entered into the appropriate database.  Transfer history in the data dates to 1999 on the Property Record Cards from the Assessor's Office and 2001 in the Transfer History tab from the Auditor's Office.  The aerial photographs were taken in the spring of 2003.  These photographs are available in the Auditor's Office for individual parcels and through the GIS Office.

Color aerial photographs were taken in the spring of 2005 and will be available in the Spring of 2006.

Information available at this time:

Currently some data is not available on the Internet.  Additional data may be available in the County Office's and the GIS Department.  Other data will be made available as it is changed and updated. 

Data currently on the Internet includes: Parcels, tax information, assessment information, road right of ways, Township and section layouts, and 2003 aerial photographs.

Fees for maps and a Plot Request Form are available in the Documents section on the right.  You must have Acrobat Reader to view these Documents.
